Pregnancy and postpartum are emotionally beautiful seasons, but they can also bring unexpected stress, anxiety, or isolation. Many families I work with aren’t aware of the supportive, often free, local resources available—especially for mental and emotional well-being. Highlighting these shows how deeply Wichita cares and helps create a bridge to community healing.

Local Mental Health & Support Resources in Wichita

Pregnancy & Postpartum Support Group — The Village ICT

A free in-person peer support network offering groups for pregnancy (Thursdays), postpartum (Wednesdays), fertility, loss, and more. Safe, welcoming space to share, learn, and find connection.

New Mom's Peer Support Group — Hosted by Lauren Collins

An inclusive, peer-led gathering for pregnant women and new moms, meeting the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays monthly (5:30–7:00 PM). Babies are welcome—donations accepted but not expected.

Perinatal Mental Health Resources — Kansas Department of Health & Environment

Provider and patient templates for screening tools, informational brochures, and a psychiatric consultation helpline for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.

Postpartum Support International — Kansas Chapter

Offers local resources, educational tools, and nationwide online support groups tailored for perinatal mental health.

Embrace Wichita — Pregnancy Support Services

Provides no-cost prenatal services including pregnancy confirmation, ultrasounds, counseling, and referrals to care—compassionate, confidential support for families facing uncertainty.
